I am not a big Lincoln Cent collector. If I could get a 1909-VDB in Matte Proof, that coin would shoot to the top of my Lincoln list. Sadly, given that one person has cornered the market, that is not possible.

My favorite from the 1960's to 1980's is the 1960-D small over large date cent. My second favorite is its proof Philadelphia counterpart.

There aren't many Lincoln cents from after 1959 that are interesting to me; here are my best ones:
1972 DDO
1960 D/D Small Date/Large Date
1983 DDR
1984DDO
A couple of you guys need to read the thread title. He said 1960's to 1980's. My favorite would be the 1972 DDO.

I like these toned proof Lincolns from the 1960s.
I have all of the doubled dies from those years but I like this one more:
I have a few other toners that rival this but I don’t have great pics of them.
I really like the strongly defined reverse on this early Zincoln.
I always liked the 1983 DDR Cent in choice bu/better.

Any Lincoln DDO/DDR or top grade Lincoln from the 70's and 80's are my favorites. I have a 1983 DDR and DDO but no truviews.
Don't know if it's my favorite cent but here's a jar of 1968s that's been marinating in mineral oil for 57 years

Fresh roll gave me 3 Wheat pennies right off the bat (Always fun to find). A 1970 D 'Large Date' but a Floating roof, a couple 82's and a nice 1968 D. This is what coin hunting is all about.

What is the OP trying to answer with this question?
As top pop PCGS graded Wheat Cents bring amazing prices, I can see the market continue to improve with top pop PCGS graded Lincoln Memorial Cents, especially the bronze issues.
1960 as it was the year that I was born... The mint blew it in 1959, the year that they changed from Wheat ears to the Lincoln memorial. They should have minted both the Wheats and Memorial (like in 1909 they minted both the Indian Head and Wheats) They could have minted low numbers of the Wheats (especially from SF) and made them a highly desired collectable like the 1909-S IH and the 1909-S VDB... Blown opportunity IMO...
Keeping with the request for 60s-80s, there is one particular issue I like. Due to coin shortages, the mint tried getting rid of proofs in 1965-67. Instead, only Special Mint Sets (SMS) were produced. In 1967 they were especially sumptuous, as if they were practicing making coins as proof-like as they could. This 1967 SMS seems essentially like liquid metal as the light flows over its surface.
Unopened SMS sets are still readily available for little more than their original cost.
For me I like the 69 Philly and the "S"
mints.
I like the 70 and 80s in high grades where the luster pops and comes in many colors. Very satisfying to find raw on the cheap.
I just went looking for a 1975 graded 67 I sold a while back and the cert is no longer active. I wonder if that means the person I sold it to got it upgraded

Yea, well, there are no cents from the 1960 to 1980 era that turn me on. I have a 1972 doubled die, but it’s not even remotely close to being a favorite.

No. Can't afford it for the most part. I'd have to divert a lot of money from far more interesting projects. Rarity is only one part of grabbing my interest. A good story or piece is history is far more important to me.
What's a great story? The 1848 CAL. quarter eagle. That's expensve, and it's got a great story.
