THIS EVENING'S ROCKET LAUNCH ON A SCENIC NEVADA MOUNTAINSIDE
In the first video the spectacular Nevada scenery surrounding the mountain side plateau rocket launch site is the backdrop for our young rocketeers as they prepare for launch.
The second video captures the successful launch of the hobby rocket into the equally spectacular cloud laden Nevada sky.
Posted as a Playlist, the two videos should play in succession one after the other.
(In the event the menu for the playlist appears when clicking the below link, then simply click the option, "Play All.")

Cleaned out my chest of drawers today and found this under some documents and other paperwork.
I bought it years ago and gave up looking for it a couple of years ago. I thought I must have sold it.
It has darkened over that time which was nice to see...
.
Lake Tahoe’s scenic Sand Harbor with its beaches, turquoise waters, and rock formations is located on the lake’s northeastern shore.
It is in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park and nestled just below the Carson Range Mountains that separate Lake Tahoe from Carson City, Nevada.
In this winter view snow caps the mountains and can be seen along the lake’s shore. Lake Tahoe itself never freezes though due to the massive heat bank created by its deep waters.
In fact Lake Tahoe at up to 1,645 feet deep is deeper than America’s tallest building, the Willis/Sears Tower is tall and only Oregon’s Crater Lake is deeper in the U.S.
My Grandfather (b. 1888) and Uncle Ritchie ready to go off to the Korean War. He loved his Frazier car.. he’d sit for long hours in his rocking chair admiring it. My Grandmother is very far left on the photo. In the 20s Grandfather was an expert glass cutter and gave demonstrations in NYC and Philadelphia. He passed when I was three, I have a very faint memory of him pushing me in a cart or something.

Happy Fastnacht Day
Today I took a ride to the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, to dine on Fastnachts and sip coffee in the historic Fegely's Reading Diner, which is part of the Museum's collection. Fastnachts will be available for just 25 cents and coffee for 5 cents.
The below linked Playlist begins with a video of the Original Coin Press #1 that minted coins in the Carson City Mint along with a near complete collection of all the Silver and Gold Carson City minted coins.
The second video is filmed in an adjacent room in the original Carson City Mint Building which displays the Silver Set, also made from Nevada gold and silver, that was gifted by the citizens of Nevada in 1916 to the US Navy for use by the newly commissioned USS Nevada. In this video the huge silver 15 gallon punch bowl is seen rotating. It and the 24 surrounding goblets are lined with 18-karat gold.
The third video is a shared walk through the same mint building's Nevada Ghost Town to include an old Assay Office. After the mint closed for minting coins in 1893 after some 21 years, the building continued to be used as a US Assay office until 1933. The Mint Building itself is haunted and there are multiple reportings of super natural occurrences that have been experienced within its walls.

I caught an early stage of the “green flash” at sunset with my iphone. I have more, but I like that this one has birds flying through the “flash”

Here’s info on the different types of “green flash”
