There is a good description from John Dannreuther on this coin (a one-sided proof), when it sold at Heritage in 2013.

@yosclimber thanks for linking that. It's a good writeup. I noticed that JD, after saying the 1829 from the mint cabinet was an inferior business strike and a sign that the specimen was likely traded away, did not say whether the 1807 in the mint cabinet was likewise a business strike! It would be interesting to know.

It's considered a specimen to my recollection. I recall graded PCGS SP-65.
It sold for $223K in 2013.

I remember seeing back in the 80's a 1799 Dollar that I would call PROOF, not SPECIMEN. To the best of my knowledge it has never appeared in the market since. The piece was so strong that all of the obverse stars had raised points in their centers. And oy, the luster!
