This is the V-5b variety with particular obverse rim cud at 3-4:00 and reverse die chip at top of A2.

There are several very nice 1837 seated half dimes like this which were apparently saved "as the first of their kind".

Last February, it was shared on this forum in a PCGS MS65 holder 44075762.

That's good to know. I didn't realize it was a recent crossover. Thank you.

65, shot 64. I was thinking 66 until I saw what looks like a scratch at 9:00 on the obverse.

A beauty. My guess was MS66, even in CACG. Looks like I’m too high!

MS-65. I like the color and toning better than mine which is in an NGC MS-66 holder. The toning on my piece is uneven.

Revised to show pictures of the piece in my type set.

This piece is graded MS65 by CACG. Thank you to yosclimber who pointed out that PCGS also had this piece at MS65 and was recently crossed into a CACG holder at grade. pcgs.com/44075762

As a side note: This piece was CAC green stickered when crossed. It sold on Heritage 18 months ago for $4,080 in its PCGS/CAC holder. What a gorgeous Half Dime!

I guessed low, assuming there was a catch here, a nice looking h10 , graded by cac, so I'm not surprised as it def looks 65 now :#
