2024 dollar coin.

Comments

  • Has anyone seen the 2024 dollar coin yet. I have received mine and let me tell you if this is truly an mint uncirculated coin. Then I have found a one of a kind. Looking at the flag there is an error on it. It looks like the flag was ripped. Then all the pieces are all over the coin. With the main part laying next to where the error is located.
I will send closer pics giving you a better look at it.

That’s a contact mark from another coin, or a “hit mark’

It occurred after the coin was in circulation, and is not a mint error of any kind, I’m sorry to say.

    Welcome to the forum.

Nice coin. Unfortunately, it’s a not an error. Something else struck that area on the flag and damaged it.

  • Ok but it came out of a mint uncirculated set.

  • You all must know. I already know that it was from something hitting it. I am not new to this. It's just surprising to find it in a mint uncirculated set. That means that it was not cared for while being packaged.
    Thank you all so much.
Be careful buying mint sets. You might end up with a set like this one

You're confusing proof sets with mint sets. Mint sets are made from regular strike coins and frequently have contact marks. They are usually better than those distributed in commerce, but they are usually no better than 66 or maybe 67. No experienced collector would expect better than that.

That's a ridiculous price. Why so much?

You might hope for better. I'm not sure you're expecting better

    Weird

I got very little resistance in the first few offerings And then got blown away on the first bag of 1974s somebody really wanted it. When the second and last bag of 1974s came up my max bid was 414 just enough.

Hoping yes, expecting not so much but I’ll have 18 more most of which priced right to gamble on.

Lucky you. Well hopefully you can cash out heavily.

Thanks and hopefully but a break even is nice too if you get to keep a few.

I lucked out and scored and MS68. This is what they should look like:

The TV didn't turn out too bad either.
