Coinciding with this morning's release of 4 more hostages, here is a video I took last summer of the shooting of my Semi-Automatic Carbine, 9mm Caliber, UZI made in Israel.
A little background about the UZI which is part of a family of firearms that were first designed in Israel during the 1940s. The name comes from its designer Uziel "Uzi" Gal, an Israeli Army Officer who was born in Germany and died in Philadelphia in 2002. The UZI continued to be issued by the Israeli Military until a year after his death. Reportedly it is being used today in both the Russo-Ukranian War and in the Israel-Hamas War.
Whiles it is illegal to own or possess an UZI in States such as California and Connecticut, an UZI manufactured prior to 1986 is legal to have in Alaska. In the below video a related to me California couple who have travelled to Alaska learn to shoot my UZI.

With regard to the "James Bond" gun this experience from this past summer mirrored one of my own from several years ago at another Alaska shooting range where I had the opportunity to fire both the Walther PPK/S and a sniper weapon as detailed in an email I posted at the time (2015).
"No, not prepping for another appearance on Hawaii Five-0, but today had the experience to actually fire a sniper rifle equipped with the same cartridge that set the world record for a sniper kill at 1.5 miles. The "class", including myself, were amazed that on my first shot I hit the 8" pie shaped target at a distance of 300 meters.
In addition, the class got a kick out of getting to impersonate James Bond by firing my Walther PPK/S that I brought along. I fired it for the first time after acquiring it some 40 years ago."

My Letter to the Editor regarding the naming of Denali back to Mount McKinley as Published this weekend followed by photos I have taken of Mount McKinley over the years:
This photo I took as a high school student circa 1965 when the commercial pilot flying us to Fairbanks circled Mt. McKinley enroute just to give us a great view. They haven't done that for decades since, at least on the numerous subsequent commercial flights I have flown:
Then in 1973 I had the privilege of spending a summer as a tour guide which included taking visitors from Japan into then named Mount McKinley Park:
This was a photo I took near Talkeetna with my camera for our wedding announcement in 1975. I mounted the camera on a tripod:
In November of 2022 Flying from O'Hare in Chicago to Tokyo I captured these views of Mount McKinley from over 30,000 feet:
This photo taken this past summer at now Denali National Park memorializes that the name McKinley has continued to live on despite the mountain having been temporarily renamed Denali for the past decade. (The National Park itself remains Denali.)
And here is photo I took this past summer within Denali National Park at a location just before reaching Polychrome Pass. Polychrome Pass, hidden deep in the Park, is arguably the most scenic spot in the State of Alaska. It currently remains unreachable by the Park's road due to a rock slide.

Ladymarcovan at work sewing in her craft room. I was gonna go in there and rub her neck, but there was a three-layer dog barricade in the way. Intruders, beware!
Sometimes the big dog steals the small dogs' bed.
When that happens, it's too much dog, not enough bed.
Here they are in the recent snow, which was our first down here in 36 years. So this was a new experience for them.
Edit: hmm. That was an animated GIF, but it looks like it ain't movin'. Oh well.
