Back in 2010, a friend of mine said "You can't put two 15 inch subwoofers into a single cab Ram pickup."
Me: "Hold my beer..."
This 2000 watt system ended up being the loudest I have ever built. 143.2dB. You could hear it a mile away, even in the city, AND it was crystal clear - no distortion at all.
I am getting ready to build a new system with about the same power, but with two 12 inch subs this time, to go into my SRT-10 pickup.

If the train hits the deer, does the air bag deploy?
Take another look. The train isn't moving.

What if? I'm a proponent of getting certain wildlife populations under control. They would be deer, alligator and crocodile, python, especially in the Everglades and wild boars in the south and central south.
Just joking about the deer and the train.
THE VOLCANO MOUNTAINS OF THE Alaska Range AS SEEN YESTERDAY FROM ANCHORAGE DISPLAY THE Fata Morgana PHENOMENON - A SUPERIOR MIRAGE CREATED BY TEMPERATURE INVERSION MAKING THEM APPEAR TALLER THAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE.
The scientific explanation of the Fata Morgana effect as captured in my videos and below photos is caused by temperature differences in the atmosphere. Light bends differently through air of different temperatures and with a temperature inversion it can actually be warmer at the top of a mountain than at its base. Light beams then track upwards and then curve down resulting in a a mirage as seen on the ground with a view that perceives the mountains as higher than they actually are.

Concurrently taken Photos of the Mirage Magnified Mountains:
To a lesser degree, Mount Foraker and Mt. Mckinley f/k/a Denali are concurrently seen at sunset magnified to look taller from the same Fata Morgana phenomenon:
Viewed from the Anchorage Alaska shore of Cook Inlet, the camera pans from close-by Mount Susitna to the distant volcanos of the Alaska Range. Mount Susitna is 30 miles distant and the volcanoes of the Alaska Range are 80 miles away from Anchorage. Mount Spurr is just over 11,000 feet high and its peak is the highest of those pictured in both the video and photo below.
Enhanced by a rare light bending mirage the volcanos, including Mount Spurr, appear taller than they really are with Mount Spurr looming the tallest.
The mirage magnified mountains appear taller than they actually are due to the Fata Morgana Effect which creates the optical illusion by bending light beams.

(Note the snow covered peak at the far right of Mount Susitna which is normally not visible from Anchorage except for the Fata Morgana Effect which has projected it up above the horizon line. This peak is a part of the Alaska Range that extends on to Mount Foraker and Mount McKinley f/k/a Denali.)
Mount Spurr
Of course the most notable mountains of the Alaska Range are Mount McKinley f/k/a Denali and its sister mountain, Mount Foraker. Pictured below are views of these two mountains on varying dates this December with their height exaggerated by the Fata Morgana Effect as visible from Anchorage. Each photo was taken from the same vantage point (my office deck) but one can see that depending on the atmospheric conditions the heights vary.
Winter Carnival Time Approaches with today being the last day to submit entries into the photograph competition. Below are our entries. All photos had to be taken within the last year and taken within the state.
