Sean is our unofficial #1 "Clip Guy" here on the forum. Post any American, foreign or token clip you think Sean might have, doesn't have or would like to have.
If this thread has legs, it might keep him busy for awhile. 🤣 👍
I'll start with an easy one. I'm sure he has one.

Here you go. It’s listed as a clip but to me it looks like there is also another small clip at 11:00 obv/7:00 rev. Am I wrong?

You are not wrong.
Hey Oakstar!
You don't tug on Superman's cape!
Very nice. Many striations on the obverse. Slight beginning lamination crack in the mid braid area.
Is that a 3 1/2 leg Buffalo?
Very minor...

Very minor.
I saw what you did there!
I like that this one is an unusual (scarce) date for errors. It is a straight clip from near the edge of a planchet strip. Note the brassy striations that were elongated when the planchet strip was rolled out, and the striations are parallel to the straight edge. I found it in a small junk lot of ordinary Lincoln Wheat cents (presumably put in there because the dealer who sold it thought it was "damaged") :
I’m confident he doesn’t have an AZ quarter clip.
Is the slab labeled as such?

Way kewl. So this proves that the straight edge is the side of the planchet strip, not an end.
Looks like "clipped heel" variety.
No ME designation.
But this one did get it:

It's pretty obvious that many of these have actually floated around in circulation and commerce for a while before being pulled out. Although, back then they probably weren't recognized at mint errors with additional value. I'm guessing people thought they were probably just damaged.

Let's keep it going. @seanq is bound to show up eventually! 🤣 😂

Back when I was roll searching, I found a surprising amount of legitimate clipped planchets. Most would have been considered disc clips, but still. I can’t remember the ratio, but I think it was something like 1 clip for every 5 or 6 thousand searched coins. I imagine many get passed over, even by serious roll searchers.
