    Here you go. It’s listed as a clip but to me it looks like there is also another small clip at 11:00 obv/7:00 rev. Am I wrong?

    Very nice. Many striations on the obverse. Slight beginning lamination crack in the mid braid area.

    Way kewl. So this proves that the straight edge is the side of the planchet strip, not an end.

    It's pretty obvious that many of these have actually floated around in circulation and commerce for a while before being pulled out. Although, back then they probably weren't recognized at mint errors with additional value. I'm guessing people thought they were probably just damaged.

    Back when I was roll searching, I found a surprising amount of legitimate clipped planchets. Most would have been considered disc clips, but still. I can’t remember the ratio, but I think it was something like 1 clip for every 5 or 6 thousand searched coins. I imagine many get passed over, even by serious roll searchers.
