Given the original theme of this thread, I thought I would mention a new coffee table book with AMAZING PHOTOS and stories of SCDs that was recently released by Jeff Shevlin and Bill Hyder entitled "Inspirations: So Called Dollars and the Stories They Tell." Two other co-authors are Robert Jesinger and Scott Safe.
I have no financial incentive / interest in this book, but if you have an interest in the upper crust expensive so-called dollars, this book showcases them. There also appears to be quite a bit of new research on the medals and a price guide built into the book write-ups. I got a copy recently and plan to send medals I collect that are in this book to PCGS in the future since I like their photo work a little better than NGC.

Great piece! Toned silver can often require seeing in hand to fully appreciate!
Would love to see it in person some time!
Here's another great toned, silver So-Called Dollar!
Of note, this one is graded PCGS DCAM, which is very rare for heavily toned pieces from what I've seen!
Here's are the some rare Centennial Art Gallery So-Called Dollar medals.

One addition... Jeff Shevlin was interviewed by Jeff Garrett about SCDs... and the new book was discussed:

Very nice! I'm glad you go to see it and report on it. Who had it when you saw it? Would be good to know for provenance tracing.
All AI, All the Time @DCW!
Hopefully, I'll be able to combine AI with So-Called Dollars and Called Dollars soon!
