I’m very sad to report the passing of an extraordinary collector and gentleman - Tom Turissini.

I don’t have any details to share.
Tom was one of the nicest persons I ever met and I always greatly enjoyed our conversations.
My prayers go out to his loved ones and friends.

Oh no! Last I saw Tom he was in seemingly great health.
For those who didn’t know he was “bigmoose” here and he was the kind of collector that the name implied. I’m aware of just a few of his coins personally and they were incredible. If he showed up to buy a coin, he was buying it, end of story.
I became aware of him traveling in the circles of Stewart Blay and Steve Duckor, heavy hitters to say the least. For me our interactions were limited to copper one cent coins but I know he collected other types. Anytime there was a thrilling specimen with amazing good looks you can be sure he was interested.
He will be missed

Tom was among the finest folks I have ever interacted with and his eye for quality coinage (especially copper) was rivaled by few. At this time I am not at liberty to share more information, but this has been a stinging loss for many of us to deal with over these recent weeks.

That is terrible. I didn’t know Tom well - met him a few times at shows because I was often hanging out with NJCoinCrank and Tom would stop by. Very nice man to talk to.
He had an amazing eye for early copper.

Very sorry to hear this. I didn't recognize the name until someone mentioned Big Moose and then I knew immediately from seeing his 1794 cents when he posted here years ago. Another fine person I won't have a chance to meet. RIP, Big Moose.
It was easy to get spoiled in a hurry, when having the pleasure of viewing Tom’s coins. And his enthusiasm was infectious.

Tom was so much fun to be around. We 1st met in the early days of Ebay - he snagged a NCG MS67 small cent pattern I was selling. We've been friends since.
He will be greatly missed by many of us.
