I think this counts?

Terrible TV - too dark.

Slabbed IHC set - Missing the Anacs Slabbed coins
I don't collect American coins, but I do have this one in my junk box.

Often the 1864 No L aka Bronze IHC is overlooked as a one year type. While readily available in all grades, they also frequently have striking problems, clashing & poor detail. I buy these frequently when I find them well struck with full tips & diamonds & obviously without clashing.

Getting technical about what is a "type"

Collector, occasional seller
and while we're being technical...

Collector, occasional seller
Not sure if this 1840-(O) "mule" made at one mint qualifies as a "Type." To me, it's a pretty unusual coin, perhaps an unplanned type made out of convenience.
Here's a favorite, classic SLH one year type coin.

Not my coin, but a good example of a one year type that is not widely known.

Compare with the 1859-O (also not my coin, but faster than photographing mine).
So many great examples in this thread! I bought this one out of a junk box about 20 years ago.

Here is the sister to CharlotteDude’s previous post.

Added reverse photo, might as well given it’s what makes it a one year type ….

This also qualifies I’d think.

Chris
Given that there are some 1802s which also have this reverse of 1800,
I believe this is a 2-year type.
But of course! I hang my head in shame.

Chris
Well, it's pretty darn close to a 1-year.
I almost did the same thing for the 1859,1860 half dime "coin without a country" (pattern).
