What is your one dream coin

What is that one coin that if you owned you wouldn't ever sell no matter how much was offered? Why?

To start off i would say a nice PF-68 merc dime with some light rainbow toning around the rims. Why, because i've always loved the merc dimes i have a complete set less the 16-d and have always deamed of owning a pf merc. i've never in my life even seen one in real life but the pics i've seen always remind me of my dream.

if you can post a pic to it would be neat to see what everyones dream coin looked like

The James A. Stack specimen of the 1870-S dollar. That is my dream coin because I am a diehard Seated Dollar collector.

1955P DDO#1 Lincoln cent in a nice actual MS68RD...because I'd be the only one to have one of these uncertified, and it would be the centerpiece of my collection.

Since the James Stack 1870-S Seated Dollar is spoken for I'll have to say the James Stack 1873-CC NA Seated Quarter (plus I have decided that the quarters are more fun than the dollars so my dream coin should change). In a pinch I would also take the PCGS MS64 1867-S (as long as it didn't mean not being able to get an 1873-CC NA later).

A toned Proof 1921 Peace $ -- I actually held one in my hands a couple of months ago. The only thing stopping me from acquiring this coin was the $12,000 price tag. I know for some of you $12K is nothing, but I'm working my way up.

Very difficult as there are so many choice coins to be enjoyed. Since I am an annoying barber fanatic I would reall love a nice Fine or VF
1892-Micro o Barber half. Only about 25-30 are known to exist in all grades and in the grades of Fine or VF only 2 coins have been discovered to my knowledge.

Lots of good choices here. Can't go wrong with that 1907 $20 double eagle. I have to think there is a 1964 Proof 69 Deep Cameo Accented Hair Kennedy out there somewhere just waiting to be graded. My scout in Kent, Washington keeps an eye out for me and will let me know the minute he finds, or makes, one. I think. image

No such thing. Every material possession I own, coins or otherwise, is for sale if somebody offered me enough money.

1849 Double Eagle....but this coin can never be owned, its in the Smithsonian.
    so it would be..
1822 Half Eagle, the lone coin in private hands. Three are known, two are in the Smithsonian, one of these came to DC via the Josiah Lilly collection that was donated in the 1960's. The Lilly collection would probably sell for $50 million plus today. By the way does anyone know who owns the only private 1822 Half Eagle?
    Collecting since 1976.

    adrian,
I heard something about an MS69 chain cent that the folks over at PCGS just refer to as.. "the coin"

must be a lot of people's dream. if true i wonder who owns it.

PCGS has certified two MS69 Type-3 gold dollars, an 1864 and an 1880. Either one will do nicely.

    Jack Lee owned an MS66.
