Here is a Ryan pack up for sale on November 9

Bad pack. The wrapper was produced in 1975!! Hard to believe packs like this slipped through authentication even though it was a long time ago. Topps wrapper codes have been well understood for decades.
Not to mention the cards being from different series, which while not impossible, probably should have raised an eyebrow.

@PCGS_Moderator - item is at private auction. A clear forgery including probably resealed slab has potential to damage PSA's reputation. Collectors Universe's legal team may want to act!

How can PSA do that? It’s obviously trash but it does belong to somebody. They could decertify the cert number so if someone looked it up they would know it’s fake but the actual cards are not theirs. If someone is swimming in the deep waters of buying a PSA 9 with Schmidt on top and Ryan on bottom I would hope they do their due diligence,

I dont understand how PSA could "recall" the pack without the owners consent. It is private property. they could (and should) decertify the cert number. Say the pack was purchased by the owner in a private sale that was not tracked. How would PSA come up with a number that is fair to the owner for compensation should he decide to use the authenticity gaurantee?

In my opinion what you paid is kind of crappy. If I own a card for 15 years and PSA deems it not authentic - what I paid (if I even can find proof or exactly know) does not approximate value and will not let me come close to replacing the card I am out. The alternative is to keep a fake or altered card so I guess I would take it.

I had listed the 75 mini cello on eBay…and received an email from PSA requesting the pack back at their cost for shipping. So…I assume someone noticed the pack was fraudulent…and PSA was notified. After receiving the pack…PSA called me and asked how much I had paid. I told them $4000, which was correct, and did not have to show proof of purchase. I did not own the pack long …so there was little to no appreciation. A check was sent to me…and the pack was taken out of circulation.

Sorry. I just can’t trust Steve. Almost half of the BBCE stuff I’ve opened has been tampered with. I’m estimating but it feels like half. I recently opened 4 82T traded boxes because Ripken has a signing coming up. All ‘factory tape’ None legit. What his service provides has minimal value and it’s hard to fully trust FASC. I would hope that PSA isn’t still relying on that bozo for their business. But sorry. That’s just one guys opinion.

I also do not blindly trust anyone. I expect you will get some blowback on the bad "review" on steve as he is pretty revered here. I have gotten similar feedback when I have failed to kiss steves ring here.
I think he generally knows his stuff, but I also think he portrays himself (and is portrayed) as the expert on all unopened, and no one is an expert on everything.

One was missing the Ripken. The others had what you would expect all the cards were there but they were not ordered as the traded sets are. So peeled tape, searched and replaced and resealed. Then authenticated with Steve. I’ve opened maybe 25-30 82T boxes in my life. Not a ton of I’ve never had one where the cards were all out of order in the box before. I have had them flip. That box had the Ripken but it looked like it had been in and out of a page quite a few times and was worn considerably compared to the rest of the cards and what you would expect from a sealed box. I didn’t pay much for them but it’s always a bummer to open something from your collection and find it’s not legit.
As for blowback. I’m a big boy.
. And I’m fine with people thinking Steve is a boss. I’ve opened a lot of BBCE and I will still buy from BBCE. It’s just more of a buyer beware message. Like be very aware because a lot of stuff is not legit out there.0 -
I don't believe I've ever had a Topps Traded set from any year already be collated in order straight from the box.

Every Topps factory set traded or regular are out of order. If ther are IN order someone has been thru them and put them that way. Maybe newer ones are but back in the 80's they were not in order.

Nolan's cards are off the hook. PSA 10's getting scarcer and scarcer. Even the newer ones in the early 90's are rolling.

it has been a few weeks, but another big Ryan sale to add to the list. Heritage sold an SGC 9 68 Ryan Rookie at their premier auction on April 25th for $100,650.00!!
big price for a Ryan rookie.
