I am a fan of the small Liberty and Indian Princess Dollar coins and the California $1 & Fractionals.
The Liberty Head was a 1849-54 issue and the Indian Princess was issued from 1854-56 (S)
and 1856-89 (L). The MS63 Prices range from $725 - 50k (L), and $875 - 220k (IP). They were
minted at (P), O, D(hlg), C, and S. Just wondering if any one has a full type set, including all
mintmarks ? The CA $1 golds were minted (possibly) between 1853-76,
and MS-62/3 prices range from $1.5 - > 115k. I have not see these posted in recent years.

    I can’t even keep track of a quarter in my pocket without losing it. Wonder how they carried such tiny coins around without losing them? 🤔😉

    No where near a full type or mintmark set, I will likely never be able to afford a Charlotte or Dahlonega minted coin of any denomination. But I have a small three coin type set of the three types of dollar gold, I think my favorite is the type III. I do not have any Cal fractional gold, that would be a fun addition to my collection but not really on the radar.

    Thank you for the kind words, the type I 1851-O is NGC MS61, the 1884 is graded MS63PL in one of the old SEGS holders. I forgot to add my type II coin, this is graded AU55 by PCGS. Some day I would like to add a NOLA type II dollar, but that will be a pricy add.

    Great Coins ! My grading skills aren't that specific but I rated both at a point higher. The 1851-O looks like a 62, and I did notice the PL on the 1884, and the details are quite sharp.

    Here is an 1870 CAL 1/2 dollar, acquired recently - nice addition to the dollars and fractionals.
    Also, hoping to get an O is S mint dollar in the future.

    Another CA gold purchase - no denomination
    but very nice Native American motif with a nice
    strike.

    I'm very impressed with the fine artistry considering
    that these were made in the mid 1800's

    It seems like they minted these both ways, for cash and carry (wear) - - -
