GTG 1844 Large Cent....my Hurricane Milton Purchase. Grade revealed!

I live in Palm Beach County and the weather from Milton had me on edge. To distract myself I took a box of 20 Large Cents and went over each coin in detail as the wind howled outside. This coin popped up on Ebay yesterday and is an upgrade from a space holder in my set. A reward for getting through Milton....I don't name coins like pets but this one will always be known as Milton to me! Guess the grade!

    EF-45. The coin is nice, but the weakness at the top of MS Liberty’s might net it down from AU.

    BTW, I found this date more difficult to find than the others in the 1840s for whatever reason.

    Reverse looks 55, but guessing that the obverse pulled it down.
    Still a decent example and I’ll guess 50.

    I agree with Bill, this date is tough to find in AU/Unc, despite the fairly substantial mintage.

    Nice... I'd say 50 as well. The Obverse looks weakly struck at the top of the crown. Here's an ANACS graded 45 for comparison. I purchased this one some years ago in an ebay auction. She hammered for just over $100 and she's still in the ANACS holder... my "post-crack" era...
