At the recent Baltimore show, my VPD/colleague acquired this:
He was attracted by the eagle & one cent die clashes that resemble those on a FE. My guess is it’s some type of civil war token, but neither of us know much about it. Please weigh in if you can fill in the information blanks. THANKS!

An 1865-1868 NYC directory shows Edward Schaaf had a grocery store at 14 Division St. and had a home at 8 Bayard St.
His 1870 census record at 8 Bayard St. shows these people:
So I am thinking that is Edward, his mother, his brother, and 2 kids, either his brother's or his,
plus a domestic helper.3 -

Not surprisingly, most of the overstrikes have a cent as the host coin. Some are struck on silver dimes. Some of the large ones are struck over silver quarters. Some are even struck on other Civil War tokens.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions that any of those were made for collectors.
