This thread strikes me as inappropriate and possibly a rules violation.

I know nothing about this site. It may be good or bad or worse. HOWEVER...

Any REALLY GOOD site should be vetting it's dealers. There are a LOT of amateur dealers at shows that would be hard- pressed to present business bona fides. Just because a site made it hard to gain acceptance proves nothing.

I don't want to pick a fight. You can charge whatever you want. But the prices on your circulated world coins don't exactly say "highly respected numismatist". It says "Etsy" to me.

Well, we can nitpick pricing on every dealers site for every reason. I like what I sell. If you dont like the price, you have a free make offer button to ask and I will most likely take a fair price, I won't hide that I will sell you something and then dont or give you my word and back off.. I am saying this other site had promised dealers and lied. How many go back on their word? Happens all the time. This site did just that.

I was invited to be a seller on Numismy a few weeks ago. The creator is Ethan Opdahl of Maryland coins, a trusted dealer and member of of the community.

I have not had a chance to try it since I’ve been so busy getting my website and business off the ground, but I intend to soon.

I sent Ethan a message when I saw this thread and offered to post his statement here. He said -

“The OP did not meet the minimum expectations of established sellers at this time, so he was not accepted - we are very strict on who we allow to sell and have a rigorous verification process, we have also just begun, so many sellers who will be accepted have not been as of yet”

I know nothing about that site. But they promised to vet the dealers, not accept all dealers who apply. That is true of numerous respected numismatic businesses. Your choosing to try and get even with them by libeling them may undermine your reputation more than theirs. I would ask that you reconsider this thread.

I looked at his site - very polished presentation but an eclectic mix of material, small we say. And the prices charged for the things I am familiar with are a little absurd.

I know nothing about Numismy, but so far, I'm on their side.

And before the OP tells me that I am always free to make an offer, remember that you only have one chance to make a first impression.

We give them a hard time when they misrepresent themselves. Rick Snow is highly respected in the community but we gave him several pages of crap for a misleading description.

The OP has gone by at least two different handles here on the boards and has been banned twice. One of those times he got into an argument as to why eBay banned him and he couldn't get around the fact they wouldn't re-instate him.
I could dig around past PM from other members here for better clarifications, but between him and mikee999s 'reincarnation' it gets tiring.

The problem is when you price your inventory intentionally high, no one will make an offer. They won't even bother to look at your coins, because you are playing games. My advice, price your items at levels you are comfortable accepting. You will be taken more seriously and appear less likely to be looking for a sucker.

Curious how many of those you paid for at one of those pay for followers places. Awful lot of those followers are following thousands of people and have no followers themselves and just have blank profiles.

Seems awfully unlikely that PCGS has 46k followers and you have 81k yet no one is here vouching for you.

I could buy 10k followers at the drop of a hat for Pennies, they’re just bots and not real accounts. Common trick for businesses looking to “appear” more established than they are.

You most certainly overpaid. Don't think that you can make a profit off everything by listing it at over 2x what you spent, because that will almost never work. I get that the rattler and gold CAC sticker are appealing to many people, but even then paying $400 is overkill, let alone expecting people will buy it from a less reputable seller for more than double the already-high price.

Unfortunately, I have to point out the obvious here, this is the MO of the OP. Blame a platform when the fault lies with the user. I don’t have much sympathy here as I extended many helpful hints of why there were issues, and many of us tried to help this user (nxtlevel something) before.

Just to point out, your business model is about 30 years removed from today’s world. It seems just kind of sleazy, reminds me of all those electronic stores in NYC where a junky computer is $1500, and you walk out with it for $400 thinking your a genius, only to realize it’s $249 at Best Buy. I would highly suggest using an honest approach and do a little research on what you are selling, because frankly it doesn’t look good. I see the exact same coins you were trying to peddle months ago, with AI descriptions and all sorts of grammatical and factually incorrect statements. Nobody has anything against you, just the approach. If you clean this up and actually try to be part of these communities I think you will have a much more enjoyable time in coins! Just my two cents.

When you have a long history of selling exceptional coins, maybe people will consider your word when ponying up huge premiums. Right now, you have a website full of items where even widgets are priced 4-5x what they are listed for all day every day on eBay. That's not the way to prove to people that they can or should trust your pricing on anything.

It was only a couple of days ago when I pointed out a bunch of your high-priced details coins and instead of saying listing them was a mistake (whether that would have been a true statement notwithstanding) you pretended they never existed after you quickly deleted them from your site.

If you want to be treated like a high-end dealer, earn your reputation and start acting like one. Otherwise, don't be surprised when everyone consistently rails on you. I hope this explains the disdain.
