Just added a cool “PL” to my “PL” collection

‘’I'd love to see Mitch's PL 1970-D Kennedies too!’’

Hey Pat (Braddick) - interesting fact(s): Now, into June, 2024, PCGS has graded less than a dozen “PL” 1970-D 50C with just (1) in MS65PL grade (and not a single DPL coin). It appears nearly “all the business” has been going to NGC over the years on this front (NGC did start recognizing “PL” on many different business strike coins, including this particular coin, years ahead of PCGS, so I am not suggesting this is unfair in any way). Let’s look at NGC’s “pops” today on PL 1970-D 50C….

Total PL’s in all grades - 216 ! Including (2) top pop MS66PL coins
Total DPL in all grades - 11!! Including (6) top pop MS64DPL coins

I just added one of those (6) MS64DPL coins to my 1970-D 50C collection, so I will see if Justin can capture the Deep PL surfaces of my new addition next week. The 40+ year hunt continues for the deepest PL 1970-D 50C known!
