    Hisago-ike Pond located in Kanazawa Japan's Kenrokuen Garden is one of the most scenic sights in all Japan. Above it is the garden's largest water feature, Kasumiga-ike Pond known for the iconic Kotogi Stone Lantern that borders it and which stands as the symbol of Kanazawa.

    From Kasumiga-ike Pond flows the water that feeds the oldest fountain in Japan as well as the waterfall seen in this video. Located in the oldest part of Kenrokuen where four tea houses were once erected, the one seen in this video was originally built in 1774 - before there was a United States of America. The video begins with a corner view of the historic Yugao-tei Gourd Tea House and its moss capped stone lantern and then pans to the cascading waterfall.

    Even older is the storied Kaiseki Stone Pagoda that then comes into view with the added treat of glimpsing the just emerging Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) above it. This 4.1 meter high Pagoda with its six stone roofs is claimed to have been gifted to Kanazawa's chief Warlord as a spoil of war from a 16th Century military campaign in Korea. There is also the suggestion that it was relocated from the Warlord's Kanazawa Castle Garden to its present location in adjacent Kenrokuen in the 1700s.
