2000 Bowman Chrome, Tom Brady, ROY Promotion Card
Recently acquired the above in a trade for an unopened foil pack of 2000 Bowman Chrome football cards
The ROY card looks really good.
Sending into PSA for grading
Never new they existed.
I'm new here at PSA, but have been collecting sports cards for nearly 40 years.
This is my second pos on the Forum so bear with me .. as I have a tendency to be a PITA and will ask lots of questions ..lololol
QUESTION 1, Multi Part A-F ..... hehehehehe
1A) Any idea why only about 50 of such cards are listed in PSA Price Guide.?
1B) Are they scarce?
1C) How were these sold and where?
1D) Are they really going up in value that quickly compared to other Brady cards?
1E ) Any means to get a rough idea of the grade here at PSA without actual grading ( by members, etc. opinions, etc )
1F) Do they have a Buy / Sell area at PSA similar to eBay?

the bowman ROY is a very rare parallel of the bowman rookie. only 250 were produced. they were pack inserted as a contest card (that brady did not win) I follow the Brady market fairly closely, and I don't think they are increasing any faster than any other rare brady rookie. in fact, there has been a pretty significant price correction from pandemic prices. it is impossible to grade cards from a photo/scan. we could give an idea, but that would be it.
before you submit to PSA, make sure you have an authentic copy. this is a card that is frequently counterfeited.

How can I tell if it is a counterfeit card, any give aways...like he Gretsky ?
How can I get an idea if its counterfeited and approximate grade +/- 2 lololol?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Wish I would have joined here 35-40 years ago but didn't have the time due to work.

I did a fairly close comparison against my 2000 Bowman Rookie card #236, Gem Mt 10 (these are not Chrome, just Bowman) and the only difference I can detect on the front is that the coloring is not as sharp (brightness) back is completely different, Official rues on Promo vs. Stats on #236 no color on Promo card back .. all black.

get a common 2000 bowman roy card and compare it very closely with your brady roy. the reason I would compare it with a common is because there is very little chance that a common would have been counterfeited so you can be confident you are comparing with a legitimate card.
then, very closely compare it. look at the gloss, the foil portions, the cardboard stock itself, the color and the clarity. counterfeits will most likely not get everything right.

Not sure if I misread but I am not aware of a “chrome” version of the 2000 Bowman RoY Promotion Brady rookie. I thought it was only available in “regular” Bowman. In 2000 Bowman Chrome, Brady has a base and refractor version.

There is a 2000 Bowman Rookie of the Year Promotion Rob Morris for $7 shipped. The odds that yours is real is very low considering what you traded for it. The Bowman Chrome pack might be worth $300? A legit Tom Brady is probably a couple thousand.

If it is fake, not the end of the world I'm out about $300.
What happened was I sold a 2000 Bowman Chrome foil pack to a guy in Anchorage, AK. about a month ago.
I had it in a plastic clear bag from about 5 years ago.
When he got it ...he texted me back saying there were 3 foil packs in the plastic bag.
I didn't check and they are very thin with only 3 cards in each pack.
For his honesty, I said keep one of the extras and send one back.
WE were both happy.
When he sent me one back, I listed it on eBay for about $250.
This guy from Il asked if I was willing to trade it for the 2000 Bowman ROY Promotion?
(I didn't even know that the ROY existed)
I said 'yes' and we exchanged. 2000 Bowman Chrome for Bowman ROY Promotion.
I know it sounds too good to be true .. but you never know !!! lololol

Wouldn't this be worth grading/authenticating in any case? I'd just send it in. At least you would know for certain if it's real or fake. If real, it's probably fairly valuable and worth the grading fee.
