Grade estimates: 1921 Peace

Just purchased this coin for what I think was a fair price. I would estimate the grade to be MS62-63 due to the hits on the cheek and jaw, what say you?
I don't think I'll be sending any coins to PCGS until January but this will be in the next group.

First thought was a 62, but it seems to have very nice fields and strong luster which could carry her a little

Seems like it will have a good shot at 63.
Looks AU, but they all do to me.
Lots of hits but lots more luster!!!
I'd say it has a good shot at 63

Really like the luster. Provides somewhat of a distraction from the hits.
My guess is 63 or better. For my graded Peace Dollar DATE set, I’ve been looking at some 64’s as fillers, and they seem to have more hits than yours. Good luck!

Luster looks really nice. Seems 63ish to me, but it’s easy to miss a cleaning from photos.

Tough coins to grade for sure. The way the market is for these coins I would put it in the 62-63 category. By my standards, due to the marks, the strike and some other eye appeal detractors I would call it a “slider.” ( AU58)
Not sure what money you have in it but I spent years looking for a beautiful 64 that could go CAC or even a non CAC 65 for 64 money.
It pays to be patient when hunting down this date.
I found a ‘21 “Details” years ago that I swear was a 65 all day. I couldn’t spot anything that put it in that details holder. I called the dealer to say I wanted it. Of course, he stated that he was taking it to a show in Houston, a customer wanted to view at it. I still check to see if it comes to the market and no luck. Years later I find my current ‘21. But I still look for an upgrade.
Here's mine for comparison

@alaura22 your’s is a beauty! Here is mine.
62 seems right two too to me.
Nice luster. A few expected marks and flatness, but should be a solid 63.
I'd call it MS62.

If I were back in the grading room, I’d go with 62+.

A good shot at MS63, minimal marks clean fields good luster.

Thanks for the input everyone. Looks like we are more or less in agreement.

Beautiful Reverse. 63 too
I could see it going 63 on a good day.
Thinking you'll get a 63 out of this one, clean fields & good luster should put it there despite the hits on the cheek area.

Post it when it comes back, I am in the 3 camp.
MS-62!

I'd give it a 63.
how about, I'm not familiar with low MS high relief peace dollar grading? I've been burned recently!
62 was my gut call but it could go 61.
I think 62 would be a fair grade. But for some reason PCGS is tough on 1921 P$. I have two great examples with great strikes and very few dings graded one 63 at PCGS and the other graded 62 at ANACS. And practically no marks on either. Both keepers.

Grades just posted while I am out of country. PCGS says 64.

Congrats on the grade, but another horrible yellow tinted frankenstein lighting trueview. I just got my recent sub posted yesterday and have the same horrible pics. It's really getting annoying.
Looks like a 62 to me.
I cannot grade peace dollars to save myself.
I'm going to take a shot and say MS64. I know that goes against the general consensus but that's my guess.

Even slightly editing it doesn't bring it back to how TrueViews used to look.

Very nice on the pickup and grade! I just sold a raw 21 and now kinda hope they return it as mine was much higher relief and way less hits... Oh well 😅
Sounds like you got a good deal after all!

63, the reverse saves it
Regarding the trueview; I don't think it is bad at all, the coin does have a slight golden hue to it that my pictures didn't capture very well. Here is a quick phone photo next to a white coin.
