The 85 Donruss set has always been one of my favorites. They did a nice job that year.

Whoa that would be anyone’s kind of 6! Great looking card.

    Should be a 9!

1999 is the cutoff for my PC of "stuff I couldn't dream of owning at the time that is now attainable because it is virtually worthless"

Unfortunate condition issues but still a nice placeholder.

jd drew i really thought he was going to be a great one for the cardinals.

Not in hand yet, but I'm picking up this nice Nomar Star Rubies, #/50.

Another late 90's - early 2000's rare serial numbered parallel from an era when base card parallels meant something.
Star Rubies are not as in demand or condition sensitive as Metal PMG's, but I would rank them third behind PMG's & Essential Credentials for numbered parallels from this era.
The BGS slab doesn't have subgrades which makes it irrelevant to me. I'll be cracking it out and sending to PSA eventually.

Didn't live up to the second coming-like expectations but he had a decent career. I remember, quite fondly, the massive hype for him entering the 1999 season and the scorching hot 1998 products that released in 1999 (Tradition Update and Leaf R&S).

Thanks! Took a few years to find an 8 that hit the mark.

He was good enough to get a 5 year, $70 million contract from the Red Sox. He never lived up to that deal, but he did hit a key Grand Slam in the 2007 ALCS that helped the Sox come back from a 3 games to 1 deficit and eventually win the World Series.

Maybe the white whale for my Brien Taylor PC. I know that a copy is out there without the gold foil but this is the only unsigned one I have ever seen. Holding out hope for a silver foil version turning up.

i do not think that topps made a silver set that year.

Ripped a 2023 Donruss FB Box from the LCS. I will stop now, it's all downhill from here.

They did not officially but many examples made their way out into the hobby. Really just a foiling misprint but so many have turned up that i won't completely rule out a 793 existing.

One of the last major cards I need for my Fullmer PC (yes, you read that right) and this is only the 2nd copy I have ever seen for sale. His uniform number to top it off!

The guy on the left just finished signing. If you don’t know who he is just look at the picture above.

Mike Greenwell was a great player for the Sox for many years. He should have won A.L. MVP in 1988 - winner Jose Canseco later admitted he used steroids that season.

I always believe Fouts is underrated. One of the best QBs ever who was a transformational player at his position. He'd be a huge legend if he'd ever gotten that SB ring.
