A few years ago, I got a freebie from Harry Laibstain that I thought was pretty good. It was spiral bound, and had all sorts of pricing info including recommendations on what to buy and at which grade levels.
That book is"Investing,Collecting & Trading in Certified Commeoratives" By: Harry Laibstain. The prices are dated, but the information is great. It covers each commem. by date.
If it helps at all, smprfi, I didn't care for the book given away by Harry Laibstain. To me it seemed it was too predictable; nearly every commem was recommended in MS66 for the collector and MS67 for the investor or something like that. As far as a Cherrypicker's type of book I am not really familiar with one out there. However, there are several excellent books about the history of commems available.
I can recommend Bower's Commemorative Coins of the United States-- A Complete Encyclopedia. I do not like the old Swiatek/Breen book, Silver & Gold Commemorative Coins.
The Bowers book has more history than either the Swiatek/Breen or Laibstain book.
