    They are partly responsible for our $0.99 items, and sales tax, as the penny tax was the first sales tax.

    It costs more than a cent to make them!

    Some day they will be disconnected and end an annual series that has run from 1793 to date, excluding the 1815.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I had to edit that post because my Samsung tablet corrected "do wish" to "dogfish." What the heck is a dogfish?
