NGC slab question

I have this beautiful Morgan.
This coin is super clean in terms of hits.
With that said I can see what appears to be water spots.
Did they use water in the production of Morgan's at this time?
I know it was used on 1921's.
Or could it possibly be pvc from the slab?
If it is ill crack it soak it and resubmit it.
It's definetly properly graded.
Could even get a bump in grade. In hand it's a blazer. Images really bring out whatever this is. Tough to see even with a loupe. I just don't know if somethings going on in the

Other than PVC, it could also be due to an improper rinse that came after a dip.

    Oh for the love of...PVC...

I can tell you with 100% certainty it is not "PVC from the slab".

    Or any other water spotting...

Or light splotches where there was toning previously, part of it having etched into the surface of the coin.

With an MS67 grade the wise thing to do would be to send it to NGC and let them restore it. If you crack it out your chance of getting a lower grade are too great.

I didn’t say that. The OP said that. Obviously, PVC doesn’t come from the slab. And I’ve never seen a coin with ‘water spotting’.

We can speculate all day on cause of water spots. Perhaps there was humidity affecting the coin during decades of storage in mint bags or whatever. Have dipped a lot of coins - I rinse thoroughly and pat them dry with a soft smooth rag. I had a lightly toned Mexico Cabilito Coin in its original state rather dullish. After dipping it’s appeal improved, very nice luster and it then sold quickly.

At least it’s not some darkly tarnished piece of trash.

What a beautiful coin with super luster.

TPG conservation might improve it but you should consult with them. What has been investor response to this piece?

CPG is $910 on it look at ones auctioned - are they as nice? I don’t think a lot of them are. Pad yours up if u think it’s PQ to $950 or $995 (close to CAC money $1120) ask and see what they offer. Tout its super luster and blazing appeal. With CDN bid at $700🏑🏑🏑 take look at what some went at auction.

Whatever is going on with the coin, the slab is not affecting it nor has it given the coin PVC. Also, I would not crack that coin out of an MS67 holder and would either learn to live with it as-is, sell it and buy another without the surface issues or (lastly) send it back in its slab and inquire about conservation.

Clearly erroneous, he's argumentative and pedantic and that makes ALL the difference.

Pretty sure NGC cannot guarantee the grade after it is removed from the holder for conservation.
