Looking to visit the Chicago area this year for a vacation, should it be during the Central States show or the ANA Worlds Fair of Money? Which show is the "better" one to attend?

I agree - Central States is a good show but, given a choice of one or the other, the ANA is a no-brainer.

CS has a better venue in my opinion. But as to the coins ANA is larger by far. Either way you can empty your billfold with little problem :)

Maybe just my opinion, but the only show on par with ANA WFOM would be FUN.

    ANA, yes!
Also, bc of the eateries and sites nearby.

Regardless of which one you choose, Thursday and Friday are the best days to attend. Saturday will be a ghost town.

ANA too big. Everyone that counts will be at the Central States show.

    What are you looking for?

ANA for size, club meetings, education and foreign mint participation. A bigger “event”.

CSNS is more convenient, free parking, secure venue and better restaurant selection nearby.

Either way, have FUN! Oh, that’s a whole new discussion……

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

The ANA WFOM is an epic show. I made the trek a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location could be better, IMO, but maybe someday they'll try somewhere else again. Probably only the FUN show compares.

The ANA WFOM is scheduled to be in Oklahoma City in 2025 and Pittsburgh in 2026.

Besides the ANA show being far bigger than CSNS, August tends to be a nicer time of the year to visit than the beginning of May.

A few years ago, it snowed on the last day of the CSNS show.
