No it’s not. It is just a nice looking 69 Lincoln.

Probably not, but I don’t care if I’m wrong.

It’s clearly not. The 1969-S DDO cents are conspicuous enough so that you shouldn’t have to ask.
In particular, look closely at the picture in the upper right hand corner below.

Some minor machine doubling. Not a doubled die.

Sorry, but no. It’s not the doubled die. It needs to look like this. Yours is just machine doubling.

Everyone thinks they've found one, but almost no one does. The real McCoy is easy to discern.

I think there is tremendous confusion as to what "doubled die" means. The emphasis appears to be on "doubled" with almost no attention paid to "die". I don't think the average person-on-the-street understands that doubled dies of a type should all be identical.

@Pick913 do you think that your coin matches the others posted to this thread?

That is a serious question. I hope you will consider answering it.

Believe it or not one of the 69 s DDO's recently popped up on another forum and it was found in circulation in the AZ. area. :o

Not even close! There is nothing on your coin that matches the DDO. :/

You actually think these two "LIBERTY" look exactly the same?

How many coins did a die produce? There’s bound to be some of those out there still, unless they caught it and scrapped the die early on…

The mint mark on the authentic DDO is centered between the 9 and 6. Yours is left of center. Placement of the mint mark has to be identical, not just close. Besides the letters inLIBERTY not matching (or even close), look at the letters in the motto. GOD on your coin is nowhere close to matching GOD on the authentic DDO.

    Pardon the pixilated screen shot

This thread contains numerous pictures of doubled die diagnostics. If the original poster genuinely thinks his is a match, he’s making his comparisons with his mind (and/or eyes) closed.

You can take as many photos as you want it's not going to turn into a doubled die. ;):D

@Pick913 This is not for you.

If you really like coins, try filling a Whitman Folder from your pocket change.

If that's too sophisticated for you, just pick out the coins you like and throw them into an old sock. ;)
