Who likes Where’s George?

I am wondering what people on this forum think about Where’s George, or if anyone uses it.

I hope that the fact that I use it does not represent me poorly to all you folks. I would like to note that I do not mark on any bill that is not a common one in circulation.

I used to visit their website and comment on their forum. It seemed busier in days past.
The vast majority of the notes that get stamped are what I consider spenders with no collector appeal. That being said, I’m not sure why the notes need to be stamped at all. The “Where’s George” stamp is mostly for recruitment and advertising.
I don't mind when I come across them, and I've saved a few that are particularly elaborate.
i dont use it as a rule but do go and see time to time, fwiw
@Ownerofawheatiehorde , what state and town are you in if you don’t mind sharing?

I’m from Western New York, and on a trip to Buffalo I found one in change. That’s the only one I have ever found.
Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
I like it but I don't mark the bills. I had one reappear a year after I submitted it. It's fun when that happens.
That’s an interesting take on it.

I do not participate on the website, but hopefully a small percentage of the folks who do may end up becoming paper money collectors!
-Yes, hopefully, but I suspect @Joe_360 's friend may get the bug over a "Where's George" fan.

Try it it's kind of an addiction like everything else.

Found one a few years ago. I just passed it on.
Where's George is simply defacement of currency. People may say they only stamp bills that are 'common', but the problem is everyone think they are an expert, or are non-collectors who have no clue what is common and what is not.

It's a safe bet that at least 99.99% of bills stamped by people are not rare or desirable. And the other .01% would get heavily circulated anyway.
It's people having fun with money. Good for them.
I think its pretty cool TBH.
God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️
