I would assume not. This is a nation's coinage and it would be foolish to model it on minors.

Probably it's a good idea that no teenage girls modeled for coins in the 1980s.

Wow. This topic got weird real quick. I assumed we were talking about the portrait on the two coins presented. Based on my original assumption, The Peace dollar has too large a nose that appears to have been broken at some point. The Libertad has a much more pleasing profile.
I never really liked the hair on 1921 peace dollars, the least well struck ones remind me of Medusa’s hair made out of snakes, so I voted for the other one.

In all the years I have owned that Colombian Peso, I never once saw it as anything but a very beautiful crown sized coin.
The comments have been very surprising.
@FrankH Thanks for sharing your example, I never seen that particular type. The original photos make the coin's proportions (large dentils and portrait) appear dime-sized, but it is even cooler that it is a peso.

This was a decent thread but now it has spun so far out of control some things need to be addressed.
If I had to guess, I would say the OP had no intention of bringing the subject to where it ended up, and let me remind everyone, where it ENDED UP is teetering on a VERY STRICT VIOLATION of our forum rules.
For those that need to be reminded, the category this post has been created in is US COINS and that is what any further comments will pertain to - US COINS. (Or in this case, COINS since one of the coins is technically not US).
This will not be treated lightly.
Furthermore, if you look at a coin and can turn a discussion into anything close to where some of this discussion has gone, perhaps the issue is something that needs to be addressed in a mirror. This is stated out of concern, not ridicule.

Absolutely ridiculous where this thread went and devolved to. The original post was innocent and relevant to U.S. Coins (and Non-U.S.) and their design. I had no problem with it and it was interesting.

Lots of different versions of liberty are very pretty, but that has always been my very favorite. 👍

Personally, I have to vote for Teresa Cafarelli de Francisci if selecting from the two. IMO she was a gorgeous woman. But, I am also married to a beautiful Italian woman, so... I guess she's my "Type"

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
I want to thank the op for this discussion. I will also overlook the crazed commentary, everyone goes nuts once ( or more). I never saw the Mexican coin before and it was interesting to view it and compare. Have never been a Peace Dollar fan due to the poor striking issues leading to terribly weak details. I am also not a fan of the Mexican coin either. But this was a fascinating comparison nonetheless
