This showed up yesterday. Couldn’t be happier. Definitely my most visually arresting Flying Eagle, perhaps coin. I took these photos with the intention of highlighting the cameo contrast since the true-view doesn’t show any. It’s very difficult, especially with theses early cameos to convey what the coin actually looks like in hand. As usual, these aren’t even close. Here are my unedited photos:

What color copper is each one above?
The Flying Eagles are struck in Copper Nickel which does not get a color designation.
That is an amazing set! I would be happy just to view coins of that caliber!
Congrats on the new acquisition, as well as owning a piece if Stew's awesome collection. I'm sure you'll treasure that for a long time.

Truly magnificent set, and new acquisition. Flyers are some of my favorite coins. Stewart had a very trained eye for quality.....I've recently acquired one of his coins, and the quality is superb.

Matt, I’m glad you have that coin. It’s the top pop of the 2nd, if the not the first, most rare variety of 1856’s. (I would still like some proof of the existence of the alleged S-10!)

Yes, I’ve looked at that listing in the FE/IND bible for over 20 years, and know for sure Rick is the ultimate historian, note taker, and ultimate authority period end of story. I’ve asked him a few time since and he positively says he has seen it. But, I’m ready for it to come out of hiding and show itself
