I don't have experience ripping 1970's, but if centering is like that all the way through, I doubt it's a good idea.

I have experience - much to my detriment - and centering can rebound.

I think an unopened vintage pack like that is cooler than a single that can be had everywhere.

You had some epic rips, that’s for sure. Would love to see the 1973 cello rip, since every card is possible. That said, a 1978 rack never disappoints given all the key RCs that year.

Not really a crime but it would be a waste. I mean how much does a 1978 Topps rack pack go for compared to say, the cost to own a NRMT or better set? I mean it'd be a lot of fun (as that guy in the Beckett article said) to open 2024 Topps Heritage but if one bought an original carton of 1975 Topps packs and actually opened them then, IMO, they'd be losing their mind! That is, when you compare the cost of the carton (which is what, at least $5K-$10K?) compared to what a real nice set would be.

Now if someone here opened a vending box OTOH, I'd be more than happy to take its leftovers! Especially 1973 as I got all the key PSA 7 cards (except Schmidt); I'm just lacking the near set part (not counting the key cards) that would go in binder/pages.

there is No Way that I could ever bring myself to rip and/or bust open my racks...

I like my racks sitting there all Nice & Pretty...

since we are talking about unopened material and ripping; I take these out of freezer on special occasions like this, and then put them back into the freezer after show & tell...

I sure do hope I am come Dec 6...that's the one day out of the year I get to buy scratch off lottery tickets (and I get some for Christmas as well). That tradition started way back when me and Denise were first married back in 2005 or so and we'd get coupons for free lotto tickets in the mail and of course no sense letting them go to waste, right? Sadly I don't think they do that anymore (not coupons in snail mail anyway) but Dec 6 was her birthday so that's the day I get about $40-$50 worth of scratch offs (and as many different kinds as I can starting with the $1 and $2 and $3 and then $5 ones). I sure hope this is the year I can hit a decent score. It has always always been my lifelong dream to be able to do the early 70s and especially 60s sets. I don't see any other realistic way it could ever happen. I guess there is being a sugar baby to a sugar mama (hee hee) but as you can see here that idea can go really REALLY wrong!!!

Ok I just want to put there I know I’m behind the 8-ball already before even opening the pack. Especially with the prices these days. But it’s fun and these cards were meant to be seen.

I’ll post every card that comes this pack. Not all at the same time but they’ll all be posted. Not I. Sequence maybe but not even sure that matters with an all series pack.

I’ve seen all the videos and they’re cooler but the benefit of posting here is you really get to see the condition of the card rather than it being waved around.
