Even though I have PCCGS graded coins, I still like the "pre" slabbed days of Capital Holders!

    Back in the day I had Capital Plastic holders for mintmark sets of $5, $10 and $20 gold. The coins are now in PCGS holders.

    I have a Washington quarter 32-72 BU set in the closet somewhere.
    Sucker for these capital holders.
    MErc Dime short set
    Half dollar Type set
    WAR nickel set
    2.5 QE Indian set
    Then I have about 40 of the holders as new old stock.
    Love these things.

    I really like the Capital holders and how they display the coins. That type set in the OP is awesome!

    Great looking sets. I like Capital plastics holders too. Have them for my Buffalo nickels complete set and short set, Silver proof Washington quarters 36-64, silver proof State quarters, and silver proof early Roosies.

    They apparently confused it with the Indian $2.5 and $5 gold coins which were made from1908 to 1929.

    Those look great. I have a few empty ones that I haven’t gotten around to filling yet. I plan to transfer coins to them from some of the old Wayte Raymond albums if I start seeing any of the coins developing terminal toning but haven’t had to yet.

    Wow! All of these Capitol Holder sets are excellent.

    @1946Hamm What a wonderful, visually diverse set of nice Morgans! A feast for my eyes. Proof positive that such unmatched sets have their own special visual quality.

    I don't have one set where the coins don't "move" around in the holder with the exception of the Reverse Ike Bicentennial Silver dollar in my 20th Century Type Set. I had a similar problem with an Ike holder, none of the coins seemed to fit into the holder. Capital used to sell a reamer that you could use to open up a space. Haven't seem one of those tools in years.

    Is there a price guide for old Capital Plastic Holders?

    I've got a empty black one labelled 1918/1917 NICKEL that came with it's nickel back in the day with it's price of $95.00 on the back.

    I don't know of any price guides for the Cap Holders, but I do know that some are harder to find that others.
