I purchased this Capped Bustie as PCGS AU53 CAC. Cracked it and resubmitted it and she came back AU55...and CAC'd again.

This one comes with a funny story, so I chose it.
I had long been looking for an 1895-O Morgan dollar in 50 or 53. As luck would have it, there was a 50 and a 53 in the same Great Collections auction, ending seconds apart. I thought both were nice.
Having been disappointed by being conservative in other similar situations, I put in a bid on the 50 a minute or so before it ended (a significant raise, but an attractive price), went over to the 53, and sniped successfully. Then found that I also had been high bidder on the 50.
So I went from being the owner of no 1895-O dollar to owning two of them. I paid for both, and asked GC to resell the 50. It sold for enough more than I had paid that I ended up losing only about $10 (when factoring in the buyer's premium). Not bad.

The 1807 CBH Large Stars AU53 CAC above in @ParadimeCoins post was actually my set piece for many years before I upgraded it. It’s a choice example for the grade in my opinion.
I hope it goes to a home of someone who appreciates quality bust halves.Dave
