    The coin looks XF in terms of wear but the copper plating appears to have been partly stripped away, maybe by cleaning or environmental exposure.

    Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.

    That's it. I would call something like this "AU details." It clearly circulated, but has only minimal wear on the high points. Luster seems to be lacking, so without the staining and such it might be in the AU55 range?

    I think that's staining not stripping. The white balance in the photos is off.

    All comments reflect the opinion of the author, evn when irrefutably accurate.

    I going to say that the coin has some staining and some clear signs of circulation, my thought on a grade is AU53.

    I'm not familiar with the variety. Is it rare/valuable?

    They're hard to find in the wild. I believe they've caught on after inclusion in the Cherrypicker Guide. Not particularly valuable, but hard to beat getting one at face value
