I can sympathize with you. Mine was just as bad. In fact, the newer subs moved faster than the old ones.
And to add icing on the cake, accounting made a mistake in billing for which, despite numerous communications, they have yet to fix.
But you knew this was going to happen when it was sold to PE, right?

Question - for ppl consigning through Heritage, Stack's et al and getting your goodies graded that way... are things magically moving faster?

How many coins?
My last submission was 4 months door to door, in the spring.
I also submitted under regular world, package received at PCGS 08/01/20223. This more recent submission has progressed along the stages pretty quickly, now at QA (for 1 week). I actually was wondering if they had improved their backlog a bit (or, if there was a noticeable drop in submissions with CACG opening that helped reduce imaging and other non grading turn around times even on world coins).

My Econ submission that just finished was about 3.5 months door-to-door. I noticed their throughput has gone up significantly in the past month, but it's not clear how much of that is world coins. I assume it's moderns.

Yes I believe so. they will grade them before the auction.
By that time you could have had 2 submissions completed. Why wait?

You're telling me you have customers who prefer PCGS graders opinion over yours? That's just not right!
And yes, the service has been pretty bad for a few years now. I stopped submitting under a regular tier a while back. And calling them does nothing. They just tell you the order has been "expedited" but it rarely has any immediate impact to the status.
Ask PCGS for a credit or refund.

Agreed! But in this case, the coins are for my own collection. (My Central American collection is all NGC, and my Spanish and Spanish Colonial gold is almost entirely PCGS.) And even though I prefer raw coins, I've slabbed most of my collection to protect my heirs.

I asked about the number of coins, because I have a batch of 20+ coins that want to sent for grading, I have used always the Express service, but only for some of my coins. I have been thinking of using the Regular service. Thanks.
This invoice is 8 coins. I suppose that the higher the number of coins, the more likely that one of the coins could hold up the entire order. But I don't think that's what's happening with this particular order.

I just sent in 2 orders in one box. 9 silver modern world coins in one (World Modern tier) and 9 gold and platinum coins with all but one being modern (World Regular tier). The older coin is a very common gold coin from early 1900.
Order with silver is already being graded but the other order is sitting in received. I do wonder with 10+ coin orders get better treatment than smaller than 10 coin orders. I would imagine the gold/platinum coins would be graded first since it's a faster tier...
See, complaining about it on the forums does speed up the process.
