I think it would be great if more of us started practicing (or practiced more often) etiquette of the types suggested by @Catbert. Regardless of what becomes of this thread, thank you for your thoughtful post. It’s for a very good cause.
With image sizes ever expanding, it would be nice to see everyone rethink the old "unwritten" rule of keeping image files down to maybe 2 to 2.5MB each (or less), and not putting too many in a single post. Use the "Large" instead of the "Max" TV ... resize and drop the resolution just a little on the best images.
The idea here was to keep threads and pages from taking a while to load, and also to prevent the possibility that eventually, maybe, PCGS might just purge massive amounts of data, if the entire data set becomes to wieldy.
Even with technology blossoming and speed and storage devices far greater than many of us could have imagined a couple decades ago, some mobile and internet speeds have issues with hundreds of MB in a single post or up to, or exceeding a thousand on a single page. And storage, however cheap, still costs money.
Something to consider, to be considerate

2) When creating a thread, it is a courtesy to others to put in the headline what the thread is about. For example, describe the coin or the issue one is trying to discuss. This allows the reader to decide whether they wish to read the thread or make a contribution.
This is the one that really honks me off. Give us a clue, at least, that's what the subject line is for.

8) Don't post pictures of coins WITH Crumbs, Lint, Dirty Fingers in the Background, Pubic Hair, Cat Hair or Coffee Stains!
Don't push that on me! Don't resurrect the foot topic.

@Catbert Good points. Common sense, courtesy, and just being civil. So many hide behind a keyboard and become rude and belligerent on the internet. Be nice if people acted like they were face to face with another human.
When resurrecting an old thread, there should be something the new poster should add to the thread topic to make it meaningful. Further, that the poster should post an alert that it is an old thread so that the new readers realize its age. Depending upon what the poster wishes to convey, a new thread creation may be more appropriate.
Thread not that old. Months vs years. It was intended as a gentle reminder for our new member and others who are new to the board. Soooo, IMO, no violation! 🙂
PS. And the intent is to provide guidance or “ standards”, not rules. As Galdalf said, “You (I) have no power here!”

e) Creating a thread doesn't mean everyone else is obligated to agree with your opinions or conclusions- so don't get all wounded when that doesn't happen. If you are just looking for others to agree with your views all the time, you're likely to be very disappointed here.
Peace
Couple this with the reality that the posters here include some of the top collectors, numismatists, and dealers in the hobby, this becomes a special court of opinion, where one can get honest views on your coins or any topic you want to discuss. Oftentimes with coins and other collectables, the truth is disappointing, but don't get upset, see it as a valuable learning experience. Grow some bark.
I love this place and really admire the way you guys conduct yourselves here. The only bad apples I’ve ever noticed have been new hires that won’t accept the truths they learn here and lash out at everyone like it’s their fault that the “special” nickel they found is only worth 5 cents.
This board is overflowing with people that will gladly take the time to teach someone…if they’re willing to learn. Etiquette and decency exist in abundance here and I think you gentlemen are doing a damn fine job of self policing just by being yourselves.

I think we all know that everyone breaks some or all of these "rules" but only care when someone else does it.
Clickbait titles, for example, are so common as to be the rule rather then the exception.
Clickbait is a lot less annoying then some of the discussions within some "legitimate" topics. Some people may not have a legitimate grasp of how to word a thread topic. So a pass may be in order. Not everyone is an English major or adept sentence constructor. Clickbaits,in the grand scheme of life, are of little concern to me personally. I just move on.

Showing gratitude if you are done favors is also a much needed virtue. How about sending a card or note to a dealer or collector who helped you out? I am actually quite grateful for all the help I've gotten on this and other forums over the years.
