I know it's not a coin, but pretty amazing. Received this $5 when I stopped by a local craft brewery tonight to pick up a six pack. The oldest currency I've ever received in change. Previous to this was a series 1950D $10 back in the late 70's when I was in high school.

I don't think I would have noticed the difference, if not for the date. He's been tucked away and protected in a nice place for 89 years! Nice find! 👍🏻

That’s in pretty decent shape. I bet someone’s relative passed and their small collection got reintroduced into circulation.

Great find! I got a 1934 $5 in change some years ago, but it wasn't quite that nice, gradewise.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
It's really nothing that would be worth putting a grade on. What you can't see is the fold line down through the middle.

The note pictured is a Series 1934C. They were produced starting in January 1947.

And with William Alexander Julian's signature on it, the date can be narrowed down to between 1947 and 1949.

That's a pretty cool find. Paper quality and ink look really good. Probably about a VF30 grade, just for reference.

The stain looks to bleed over on to the background surface, so I assumed it was a shadow…
Nothing that a washing machine and dryer can’t fix. Lol.
