Welcome. Set up an account with the US Mint website and register payment info and try to buy one of the 2023 Morgan’s and/or peace dollar at noon Eastern. Check in a few minutes early. Also check out and read several pages on the 2023 Morgan and Peace Dollar thread. Good luck and check out eBay. Caveat Emptor on eBay and most anywhere else. Posting questions here can sometimes save a crash and burn purchase. Don’t post the offer just a good picture and questions. Don’t want someone to snipe your treasure hunt. Good luck. Thanks 🙏

The answer is simple: collect what you like. I started out, as did so many others, by filling holes in blue Whitman folders with Lincoln cents, Buffalo nickels, Mercury dimes and the like. I never got into foreign material but if that's your thing then go for it. Potential profit should be a secondary consideration. Learn all you can and enjoy yourself!

You can now buy boxes with surprise coins in them. That should be cool for a new collector.
What ever you get that is what you should collect going forward.

Your "VF 15" (?) is actually a GD04.

I'm surprised PCGS didn't use a full gasket on that one, it's one good whack or drop away from being a modern rattler holder.
