My Two Columnarios from Chile, and Other Santiago Mint Colonial Coins.

I have shown these two before, but never together - the pride and joy of my Santiago, Chile mint colonial collection.

Of course, if anybody has any colonial coins from the Santiago mint It would be great to see them :)

    I been looking/searching for a columnario type too one of these days...
    Not a columnario but here is a 1/0 Pop:
    1786-So DA 2R

    Very nice and scarce to rare in that condition. Congratulations.
    In my experience, Santiago mint Carlos III minor coinage, specially 2R, 1R and 1/2R in grades above fine to very fine, like this example, is surprisingly scarce to rare. By comparison, Carlos IV coinage in higher grades is seen much more often.

    I regraded it at one point. It’s a 64

    Hopefully you also got a new Trueview that lights both sides of the obverse. Great looking coin.

    I assume this is the same example referenced in C. Jara's 2005 work on Santiago coinage 1749-1772. As of 2005, this coin was considered unique. I is very possible this is still the case - One would have likely heard/read about a new example if it had been found. This is not the case. A notable coin.
