Another question from a newbie

I am new to the forum. I love shiny things! I found this coin while roll hunting and find it interesting. Is it PMD or something else?

Damaged. Spend it. Also, welcome to our coin forums. :)

I'm just happy for you it wasn't a W quarter.

It is only an error if it happens during the actual striking of the coin,
anything that happens after that is PMD.
Seeing what you have could have happened at that time, it defaults
to a damaged coin, how it happened doesn’t matter.
    Damage is damage.

Thank you all for your comments. I was confused because the lettering is stamped through the gashing. Thought is might be something. BTW......I do have a number of W quarters. That is what got me interested in the hunt :D

BTW: For future reference. If you plan on hanging around here, always post both sides of a coin.

See that person on the side of the road, asking for change ? They usually carry a sign so we don't have to talk. A perfect specimen to give.
