Coin clock progress, just one more to go!

I've posted my coin clock project some time back, but I did manage to get another coin for the 2 o'clock slot, an 18178-S Morgan that had the toning arc in the right spot! That coin is in an ANCS MS-63 holder. Now all I need is an 8 o'clock toner to complete the set and get my clock face printed!

Definitely attractive but hope the tarnishing doesn't continue. Will this be part of a functioning clock requiring the center coin to be drilled?

No coins will be harmed for this clock! When I'm done, I'm going to have a clock face from my images printed on either metal or plexiglass. I'm looking at a 16 inch size for it. I've seen various options online to get this done and they all come with the clock hands and the movement part.

A very impressive and interesting coin project with imagination and fabrication. Did you specifically search for each of those toned coins?

I saw this when you posted it on IG, so impressive, this had to have been so much fun on a number of levels for you.
The date seem to repeat?
OK, I'll attempt to answer some of the good questions posted above:
1) I started this project around 6 or 7 years ago after seeing an error coin clock made with off center coins that pointed to the corresponding time on a clock. Seeing that made me want to do a clock like that, except with arc/crescent toners. I figured it would take quite awhile to get that completed, since the patterns are fairly random. You really can't say a 12 o'clock toner is scarcer than a 6 o'clock toner. It's all about finding the right coin at the right time and getting lucky.
2) As for continuing tarnish, some of the coins I've had close to a decade. No major changes on them, it does seem the holders keep them stable.
3) The 1880-S above does fit the time slot, but the look doesn't quite fit for me. Thanks for the heads up though.
Overall, this has been a fun project. I'm sure that I'll see an 8 o'clock toner that will fit the bill one day. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next month, next year, next...
Either way I'll end up with a pretty col clock when it's all done!

When I was at ANACS in the early 80’s we got in a complete clock of off-center Morgan and Peace dollars.
Very cool when I look at it again.
