One picture would have been sufficient. That is an ugly coin past the point of no return. Live and LEARN. We have all paid some tuition somewhere along the way.

I have to add, if you are asking for a grade on a severely polished coin, you need to educate yourself before buying anything else.

Seeing pictures of the OP's coin just made my blood pressure go up! When you say Live and LEARN, man you're not kidding. I had a beautiful Morgan I had passed down from my grandmother several years ago. It was a common date but had a beautiful cartwheel/windmill-like patina effect to it. The only problem, it was in a machine applied bezel. The bezel had a loop on it. I think it was a necklace at one time.

There was no way I could safely remove the bezel. So I took it to (what I thought was) a reputable jeweler! If I asked the guy once, I asked him 10 times!! Can you remove this bezel WITHOUT damaging the coin?? Yes, he assured me he could. Again, looking him straight in the eye.. Are you sure you can remove this bezel WITHOUT damaging the coin?? He assured me he could.

I gave him the coin and he gave me a receipt. He said it would be ready the next day. I went back the next day. He had the coin in a small manila envelope. He slid the coin out in front of me and I about lost my mind!!! Holy SH#^#&T!!! I didn't even have to hold the coin to see it!! What's wrong he said?? You just destroyed and F***ed up my coin I said!!!

He removed the bezel with no problem. He just buffed the hell out of the coin. It looked just like the OP's coin!! The guy must have used a bench buffing wheel with buffing compound on it. I was fit to be tied!! You never heard so many curse words come out of this Marines mouth!! After I gave the guy a piece of my mind, I turned and started walking out.

Can you believe the guy still wanted to be paid?? I turned around, walked back and throw the receipt in his face! I told him to eat it!!
