looking for some advice on these coins I picked up. These look like they were graded by an illegitimate grading service, and I'M going to send them to PCGS to get them graded, Should I send these as a crossover, or should I crack them out and send them as a raw coin?
My fears are that if I send them as a crossover they will not grade out and I will waste a bunch of money, however if I send them as a crossover, it's like suggesting the grade and that might work out good for me.? Thanks for the help

No chance PCGS will pay any attention to those grades.
You basically bought raw coins.
If it were me and I thought the coins looked good enough in-hand to warrant the grading fees I'd crack them out and send them in raw.

Get the bottom one out of that holder regardless of what else you do. It appears the coin in it is being "held" in place with cell-aire foam. That type of foam often has post consumer recycled material in it. You never know what might happen to a coin in contact with it.
Crack out
I don't think you should submit them to PCGS for grading. I think they would come back as genuine Altered Surfaces. Look at the scratch on Liberty's Cheek on the 1887-O the frosting goes into the scratch. The 1883-CC appears that the field has been worked on. I could be wrong, if I am someone will let me know.
Put them on the BST, maybe some of the holder collectors will buy them

I don't know what you paid, but if you paid anywhere near established prices then you might as well have put together a fat pile of twenty-dollar bills and lit them with a match. At least then you could watch your funds burn away. If you submit these to PCGS you might as well burn another pile of bills.

Looks as if you took a chance and did not do well. I would recommend you sell them as is and take what you can get. Then stick with top tier TPG's until you learn more about grading and pricing. Good luck, Cheers, RickO
I do not collect holders so I do not know if this is a good advice or not but before I cracked those out of the holders, I would try to check if the holders themselves had value. Others who posted in this thread may know, I simply do not. I also am unsure how I would go about researching if the holders are valuable. I believe @Lakesammman is into PCGS holders but I do not know if he also collects other third party holders. If he doesn't, maybe he knows someone who does?

There is a comprehensive website that lists them all, but I can’t find the link right now. Someone will probably post it shortly. Most of these services are worthless.
Can't get a good read on the top coin but the CC looks hinky to me. Both "grading services", aren't.

The 87-0 has an irregular field indeed.
Those holders in themselves have no value.
You could not even sell them on eBay as they are not one of their recognized TPG’s.
That’s the list - thank you for posting the link - very helpful. Though I don’t necessarily see the OP’s slabbing companies on the list, there are likely dozens or more additional slabbing companies.
