It's been in encapsulation for 2 months. I was encouraged it moved there in less than a month then ...... crickets ....

I've read about some members here with coins in much longer than that.

My guess is the graders are overloaded with parking lot, coin roll hunting finds caused by youtube, tiktok...etc.

I had my regular submission (club voucher) which was received on March 2nd delivered back to me today so it doesn't seem like they are that backed up...or I got lucky. One of the two. I'd maybe call and see whats up?

Wouldn't it be great if the aging process passed this slowly? :D

Similar to you my submission has been in encapsulation since 2/15. Today will be the 50th day since it was received.
This is the slowest service I've received in 30 years.

Just based on threads posted here, there does seem to be a significant variance in processing times. Likely there are some reasons we do not understand, but on the surface, it sure is strange in some cases. Cheers, RickO

My order moved into the "Grade finalization and encapsulation" phase. The wheels are turning, just very slowly at times. I seem to remember another business who stop taking orders because of excessive backfilled orders to get caught up.

I am waiting for PCGS signal to submit. When you see nice juicy quarterly special then you know it is time to submit.

They received my submission for 5 medals Oct 12th and it is still in grading. I mailed this to them 6 months ago! Was told there is no timeline for medals (economy special issues/restoration). Thinking of leaving a note about them for my relatives in case I don't live long enough.

I submitted a CWT a month ago. If it takes 6+mos, I won’t be submitting any more - ever.

Oh, three times I have called them, get in for them to phone me back and every single time they phone me back I am on a call I can't break away from - ... I just laugh at the abusurity and lack of luck.

I have some friends which receive after 6 months. I think the management must review the procedures and staff compliance.

I had an ECONOMY submission they altered to a Regular submission (voucher for 8 free) stuck in QA for 8 weeks, it finally move to the next step. Rather than shipping out the door they sent it to imaging. I never asked for imaging. Pfffft.

How does NGC compare in turn-around times in the same categories right now? Did both TPG's lose any graders to the upcoming CACG?

On 12/9 I had 6 submissions, I received the final one back Monday (4/3) it was a modern value sub with 13 coins, mostly VT innovation dollars. I had another modern value sub from that order that was received back 12/29, it had 13 coins all were ASE. The other orders came between these and were a regular with vouchers, a mint error, a foreign, and a reholder.

I’ve often said if you want to slow down time go to prison or law school. Submitting coins for grading would be easier than either.

I have never been bothered by the incredible amount of time it apparently takes for a submitted coin to be returned. I have never submitted one, and I purchase ones that have already gone through that arduous process. A whole lot less stressful for me and apparently for the graders.

Once again similar to you my submission moved to QA last Monday. Today it says grades ready, but no grades are posted.
Perhaps the grades will post this week. :*

I think they must just be slammed. I have 20 Morgan's I want to send in for grading. When people say "are you going to submit it for grading" this is why I have not. I don't know if it's any better across the street but I really only want my coins to be slabbed by pcgs. I won't submit until I hear things have improved though.
I really do think it's a combination of a log jam and lack of staff in any area. It may have nothing to do with the grading process. It could be shipping and receiving for all we know.

I'm guessing that once the CAC grading service is up and running, it will take a lot of the load off of PCGS and NGC unless of course they hire some of the PCGS or NGC graders.

My Regular "Club" submission, received on 2/22, went into QA yesterday around noon, grades posted a few hours later, and shipping details posted a few hours after that! This morning, the True Views were ready!!

Grades finally popped. Order was received on 1/19, not a single coin crossed.
Poorest service & poorest results in several decades.
There has always been grading variations but service and results like this are ridiculous.
CACG is looking better ever day.

There is no reason to wait, as it will take just as long with a later start date.

There is no way this long wait will last forever. Submission will slow down sooner or later. When grader get tired you might get a lower grade. Wait is better. I am waiting anyway.

I could be wrong but I believe the graders that CAC has hired were previously employed by PCGS or NGC at some time in the past, recent or long ago I do not know.

    @TwoSides2aCoin
    Posted. 4 months for this:
Line Items Cert # PCGS # Description Grade Region
    1 1 46329446 6961 1868 $1 DNC USA
    2 1 46329447 3718 1868 3CS PR63 USA

The 1868 $1 is in an older NGC AU58 holder. The proof coin was also NGC. I needed the proof not the dollar to cross. I have the $ in 64+ already but wanted to start a second set with all my doubles and they are kind of spendy even in AU.
