We all know about the 1922 Weak/No D. What is this? 2022Sally Ride Quarter

Joe_360Joe_360 Posts: 1,875 ✭✭✭✭✭

2022 Quarter, the second 2 is faded, the mint is almost completely gone. The top of the Y in liberty is gone but the T is okay.

The rim is okay, I don't see any scratches, and the reverse is fine. Any thoughts on the cause? I have never seen. Thanks

Struck through grease - wrapping machine damage would be a circular incuse mark.

Thanks to all for your feedback. I never seen a quarter like this after much roll searching. Case closed, appreciated, Joe.

The quality of coins coming out of Philadelphia lately has dropped.

I don't know why, possibly indifference or new hires?
