I picked this up a week or so ago.
In hand, it's very prooflike and not so plain brown as my photo may suggest... more golden & rose color.
Having said that, I'd really love to see how bright this one could be with a proper dip & rinse.
I won't do it, but I think it would benefit from it.
Feel free to take a stab at the grade., it's in a small old anacs slab.

Very nice, always loved a nice PL. Maybe a 64?

Looks like an MS64... Not sure how much is concealed by the tarnish.... Cheers, RickO
Wow, strong strike. I'd leave it alone also and enjoy as-is.
That's a really pretty Morgan! I feel like Anacs would probably grade it MS64. It would probably cross at MS63 in PCGS plastic.
I will. Still, I'm curious what it'd look like. I assume PCGS conservation service is a proper dip & rinse. The PL fields are really trying to pop out under the tarnish.

Does look like a strong strike. Lots hidden by the tarnish. 63?
Anacs seems more generous with grades, so maybe 64?

I hate to let these go on too long... Here's the slab shot.
I do think it has a decent shot of making 63PL but I also like the little slab it's in.

You're the second person to mention the strike. I didn't realize this date came mushy...

I would have guessed 64pl

Looks like a 63 for sure. Don't chicken out, just do it! Crack, Dip, and Send!
Definitely under graded and since it isn't a real older holder (6 digits are the older holders by ANACS) send it into our Hosts and let us now how things turn out.

In this case I believe it is correct at 62 due to the strike especially flatness of the hair and the eagles breast feathers.

✓ Everyman Mint State Carson City Morgan Dollars (1878 – 1893)
✓ Everyman Mint State Lincoln Cents (1909 – 1958)
✓ Morgan Dollar GSA Hoard (1878 – 1891)
I like it in the holder its in.
I noticed a couple people making cracks about ANACS grading. One of those people does it consistently and I think it's wrong.
