Strange 7 on 1977. Through research it seems that 1977 dimes had many issues, but has anyone ever seen anything like this?

    How does that happen? It’s not like the 7 was welded on and moved.

    No, the 7 was not welded. It took a hit from the right and shifted the metal (7) to the left. Spend it.

    Damage from a coin rolling machine. More common on cents, but yours is great example.

    The mark below the 'moved' 7 indicates PMD..... Not a mint error. This effect can also be achieved by those who would alter coins. Cheers, RickO

    It is just an PMD and no more then this.
