Intercept Shield albums - black insert pages?

droopyddroopyd Posts: 5,381 ✭✭✭

Just bought a new IS album to replace one that's about 15 yrs old, and noticed that they no longer come with the black insert pages that go between the actual album pages.

I will say I'm quite pleased with the lack of environmental damage with the IS album, which I've noticed with long-term (20+ yrs) Dansco storage.

I recall that the black inserts were supposed to part of the protection, wondering what they actually did and if there's a reason why they discontinued that feature.

I do Not know. But from the IS web page perhaps it was incorporated into the pages.

    Deluxe coin albums
    with slip covers
All coin albums are lined with Intercept Shield, as are the included slipcases. They are constructed of acid and sulfur-free, high-grade materials.

Thanks, that makes sense but it would be nice if hey were more specific, I'm assiuming the new albums are at least as protective as the old ones.

    From Wizard Coin Supply:

Intercept Shield used them for additional protection but later determined they aren’t needed so they removed them.
