Severely damaged liberty dime

I have this liberty dime that I saved and was trying to read the date on it, but it is so damaged on both the reverse and obverse sides of the coin. I believe that it is an error coin but not sure. Can anyone help me?

    No error and the date is irrelevant.

    It’s nothing more than a damaged Roosevelt dime, which are still being used and minted today. This coin was minted no earlier than 1980. We know this because the P mint mark wasn’t used on Roosevelt dimes until then.

    Not sure, I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he took the liberty of uploading an actual avatar pic instead of a default. A lot of new accounts posting here in the past few days

    @Rarecoinhunter... Welcome aboard. As you may realize based on the above inputs, your coin has severe Post Mint Damage (PMD) and is worth ten cents. No error, no premium. Cheers, RickO

    Thank you JBK. I thought that it might just be damaged, but I saw a few on eBay that indicated they had error coins, but most of the listings there also say that their coins are rare but there are many many of the same coin. So it is hard to know the real truth. I have many coins that I am not sure of, some I collected, some parents left when they passed. So, I really want to learn the true scoop on these conns. If I show something that is not worth a plug nickel, I don't mind constructive criticism. And thanks for putting up with me ahead of time.
